They say we have peace
And that peace like still waters
Flows through our ever-weeping land
Peace overflows through their criminal
mind
For some way some how,
In their myopic comprehension,
Peace, lives in the absence of physical war
So there is Peace!
But the battles their actions dump on us
Their dark-shaded actions
Spreading suffering like enraged fire
Over our innocent souls
Can all be counted as Peace
There is peace in our land
Because we have not cut their greedy throats
Because we have not deflated their swollen bellies
Because we have not shot the cat of their being
Let them continue to breathe hardship
Let us continue to wrestle with poverty
And let them continue to call it Peace!
But I throw my caution into the listening wind
The cat thinks he has peace
Because in his stealing spree
We the owners have portrayed haplessness
So, to him
We all have Peace!
